Mountain View County – Re-Connect with the Farm Tour

Come meet your rural neighbours!

In conjunction with Open Farm Days, Mountain View County is hosting two different bus tours on Saturday, August 13th, 2022. There will be a Farm Tour (8am-5pm), as well as a Hops/Mead Tour (10:30am-4pm). These tours are family friendly, so feel free to bring the whole gang!

Farm Tour

Saturday, August 13th, 2022 – 8am to 5pm*

This full day tour will start at the Mountain View County Office, located at Hwy2A and Bergen Road (Twp Rd 320). This tour will include stops at the Huntcliff Dairy, Custom Woolen Mills, Chickadee Hills Farm and Tall Timber Cattle.

Hops/Mead Tour

Saturday, August 13th, 2022 – 10:30am – 4pm*

This partial day tour will start at the Water Valley Community Hall, located at Hwy582 and Rge Rd 285. This tour will include stops at Water Valley Hops and Fallentimber Meadery.

*PLEASE BE ADVISED: all scheduled departure and arrival times proposed are approximations, please allow for delays resulting in late arrivals home.

RULES AND GUIDELINES:

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
No smoking will be permitted at any of the farms
No dogs or pets
Please respect all rules and signs for each farm
Do not touch or feed animals unless told otherwise by the host farm
There will be opportunities to purchase local products
Please ensure you wear the appropriate footwear and clothing this event takes place on farms rain or shine
Please bring sunscreen and bug spray
Please advise of any food allergies
Please bring any medications or medical devices (EpiPen) as needed.

FAQ’s

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please ensure you have identification if you plan on participating in a sampling tour, additional charges apply at the farms.

What are my parking options for getting to and from the full day event?

Parking is free. Plenty of parking is available at the Mountain View County Office.

What are my parking options for getting to and from the partial day event?

Parking is free. Parking will be available in the Water Valley Community Hall, with overflow parking available at the Water Valley Fire Station.

What should I bring into the event?

As there will be opportunities to purchase local products, please bring cash if interested. Please ensure you wear the appropriate footwear and clothing as this event takes place on farms rain or shine. Please also bring sunscreen and bug spray and any medications or medical devices (EpiPen) as needed.
