Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society Grain Elevator
Experience a guided tour of the historic wooden grain elevator in Spruce Grove. Practical and simple, wooden elevators were used in grain-growing areas all over Canada for nearly a century. Now only a few stand as a reminder of our agricultural past. They were meeting places and helped to build communities.
During a guided 20 minute tour you will:
• Learn how the elevator was built, and observe the simple yet intricate, well-planned construction.
• See how the local farmer dumped his load of grain and how it was weighed. See how his grain was graded and then sent into a storage bin.
RavenWolf Brewing Co. will be on-site offering samples of their brews. Did you know that RavenWolf Brewing Co gets their grain locally to make their beer? We will be describing the “grain to brewing” process.
Large freshly made pretzels made by RavenWolf will be available for purchase for $4.00 each.
The Spruce Grove Elevator concession stand will be open for coffee, cold drinks, and ice cream sandwiches.
