Paint Night at Little Cherries on The Prairie – August 14 from 5:30-8:30
A paint night will be held on Saturday, August 14 from 5:30-8:30 pm overlooking the Blindman Valley. The meal will include a full, 5-course dinner, featuring local ingredients.
The menu includes:
bruschetta on sourdough baguette,
Hungarian chilled cherry soup,
mixed green salad,
bison steak bites with cherry wine glaze,
chicken bites with pear relish,
and a choice of 3 desserts: haskap scone tarts, raspberry sandwich cookies, English possets.
All courses will be served while the paint night proceeds. Local artist, Dawn Derrien from Boho Apothecary, will be leading a very unique painting experience. In keeping with the theme of local and farm-fresh, she will be featuring fruit-based, egg tempera paints reminiscent of Michelangelo’s Renaissance paintings.
Cost is $125/person and can be e-transferred to email@example.com or mailed to Little Cherries on the Prairie, RR1 #40306, Bentley, AB, T0C0J0.
Products may be available for purchase the night of the event: locally milled flour, cookie mixes, jams, sauces, sourdough bread, and possibly honey.
Tours – August 15, from 1:00-4:00
On Sunday, August 15, from 1:00-4:00, there will be orchard tours. There will be no u-pick this year as a massive hailstorm took most of the fruit. What remains will be left on the trees for Open Farm Days viewing. There will be an opportunity for purchasing some orchard preserves.
Directions: From QE2, go west on highway 12 to the intersection of highways 12 & 20. Continue west 3 miles (4.8 kms) to range road 2-0. Go south almost 1 mile (1.5 kms) to blue sign #40306 on the west side.
Join us in August when more than 100 farms, ranches, and ag-tourism operators open their gates and invite visitors to share in local stories, see on-farm demonstrations and purchase locally grown and produced products.
