BentleySaturday the 13th is Paint Night in the Orchard with full dinner. Overlooking the Blindman Valley, participants will enjoy creating their own masterpiece at the direction of a local artist, while enjoying a dinner made from local ingredients.
Sunday the 14th will be tours of the orchard, a truly biodiverse operation. After last year’s wipeout hailstorm, the orchard has been pruned, and regenerated and is looking like an abundant harvest year. Fruit, cherry crafts, and baking will be available.
Above all, we are known for our delicious prairie cherries, with higher sugar levels than a BC bing, and a balanced acid level to make for the very best flavor for fresh eating and preserving. There are also saskatoons, haskap (our favorite), lignon berries, aronia berries, currants, raspberries, plums, apples, pears, apricots and more, making for a biodiverse orchard.
Visitors will be able to see all the fruit trees, sample in-season fruit, and have the opportunity to purchase fresh fruit and possible baking. We also make cherry wood crafts which will be available for purchase.
Paint Night in the Orchard (August 12) has come to be known as a magical evening. A fine dining experience, featuring ingredients from local farms, along with your own painting creation, while overlooking the famous Blindman Valley, is an experience worth taking in. Cost is $120. Reserve your spot quickly by contacting us and sending an etransfer to djjc4@hotmail.com.
We are a family-run farm, working together on nearly all tasks. Our 3 sons, ages 23, 21 and 19, and our daughter, 16, all help out and take part in operations.
