We are hosting on Saturday, August 14, 2021, a Farmers Market, and in collaboration with our Market Buds Program
We are offering a workshop on Composting and Worm Farming to educate youth and adults on the importance of ‘Soil Health’ and how regenerative farming improves the soil and the environment.
Our instructor Alyssa Gross, her farm name is Greener Pastures, will give children and adults instruction on how to create effective composting using worm farming to create microorganisms in the production of food.
We will hand out ‘tokens’ to our youth participants through our Market Buds program, to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables from our Locally Grown producers and highlight the importance of local food production to our food source and how Alberta Agriculture is supporting farming throughout the Province.
We are collaborating with the Stettler Board of Trade to promote ‘Taste of Heartland’ from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM highlighting locally grown food in a four (4) course meal served on Main Street to 150 people.
Farm Type: Agricultural Society
Host Name: Stettler & District Agricultural Society
Join us in August when more than 100 farms, ranches, and ag-tourism operators open their gates and invite visitors to share in local stories, see on-farm demonstrations and purchase locally grown and produced products.
