Steel Pony Farm is excited to invite you to our 3rd Annual Open Farm Days

Join us at Steel Pony Farm for Open Farm Days! We’ll be hosting an educational farm tour at 11:00 AM on Sunday, August 17th—open to everyone and all ages. As a farm-based food hub, we work closely with local farmers and producers to offer year-round, locally curated food boxes filled with fresh vegetables, dairy, and pantry goods. Many of the veggies are grown right here on our chemical-free farm, just southeast of Red Deer.

During the tour, you’ll learn how we grow food using sustainable, regenerative practices—no synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or fungicides. Instead, we focus on creating healthy, living soil through methods like cover cropping, compositing, and mechanical cultivation instead of herbacides.

The event runs rain or shine, and there will also be a kids’ scavenger hunt and an opportunity to purchase Steel Pony Farm products after the tour. We can’t wait to welcome you to the farm!

🥕 Parents/guardians: kindly keep a close eye on your children and ensure they are respectful around farm animals.
🥕 Watch your step—live electric fences may be in use around the farm.

🥕 Don’t forget sunscreen and insect repellent.
🥕 Bring cash if you’d like to purchase Steel Pony Farm produce after the tour.

  Head south from Red Deer on 40th Avenue, turn left (east) on a gravel road called TWP 372, travel approximately 4 km, and look for a large sign on the left side (north) of the road that says Tamara Ranch. The driveway is called RR 270A, and signage will lead you to parking.
