Aurora Alpacas is a family-owned alpaca ranch on 80 acres.

We purchased our 1st two alpacas in 2017 and since then, we have produced National, Supreme and Color Champions, which we are extremely proud of. Currently we have 22 alpacas with 7 cria (babies) expected this summer.

If you are curious about alpacas & the amazing fiber products and how they are produced come visit us to learn & experience this unique livestock firsthand. Learn to love alpacas like we do by getting a chance to:

• ask questions and gain 1st-hand knowledge about what makes alpacas so unique
• take photos and watch them in the pasture and up close
• handle fiber shorn from the alpaca this past spring, and samples from the various stages of processing fiber into yarn
• watch spinning/weaving demonstrations
• visit the market to purchase yarn, alpaca products, and alpaca novelty items (debit/credit cards accepted).

On site we will also have Sabor de Los Andes Food Truck specializing in Columbian cuisine (Sunday only). We look forward to sharing our amazing alpacas with you!

Welcome to Alberta Open Farm Days.

We are so excited to be opening up our farm to all of you.

We can't wait to show you our piece of heaven, the coffee roaster and what we do to create our coffees.  We will have a variety of coffees available for purchase and can accept cash, debit and credit cards.   Our 400g bags are available for $18.00 and include our Sealegs Sumatran, Country Roads Columbian, Beans Brazillian, and our NEW Backroads Blend.  We will also have our signature flavours Murphy's Irish Cream, Kilts on Grogg and some new flavours to welcome to the line up; these 200g bags are available for $12.00. Family is very important to us, so come and meet ours.

• Learn about how we roast coffee and about how beans are classified based on where they are grown and much much more.

We will have lots of games for the kids, coffee samples and some tasty treats from our friends at Twisted Fork; a farm to table restaurant in our community.

Our family is excited to have you visit us on our 4th annual Alberta Open Farm Days!

Mark will bring you on a tour of our farm where you will learn how we grow, harvest and cure our garlic. Of course there will be some available for purchase in the store. Don't forget to bring a cooler! While you wait for the tour to begin, enjoy some refreshments and have a game of cornhole. If you are feeling crafty, join Brenda for a garlic braiding class at 2pm. Space is limited for this so don't be late!

• We will start our day with ticketed meal event, Farm to Table Lunchtizer $5 each or 5 for $20, multiple stations featuring local farm & producer products in bite size appetizers portion. Participants include: Broken Tine - Fricey's, Good Good Farms, Harmony Way, Wooden Nickel Ranch, Homestead Farms, Hive Hero, Burnt River Ranch.
• Sample them all for a taste of the region.
• Family activities will include horse drawn wagon rides, giant sand pit with toys, Horse Racing Alberta jockey training station, interactive bee station, candy scramble and much more...
• Backyard Alpaca Farm will be joining us as a co-host and showcasing live alpaca. Learn about these fabulous animals and purchase unique items at their display.

Healing Homestead is a second generation family owned and operated mixed livestock farm located in Parkland County, AB.

We specialize in breeding, raising and conserving Heritage Breed poultry (Chickens, Turkeys and a Peacock or two!) pasture raised heritage pork and new this year our herd of Alpacas. Our farm runs with the well-being in mind for the land and the animals we steward. The nutrient-density of our food is a direct reflection of the health of the ecosystem that produced it. Our thriving farm ecosystem produces nourishing chicken, turkey, pork, eggs, and produce. Zero chemicals, pesticides & hormones. All animals are fed a Corn & Soy Free diet.

Healing our bodies with nutrient dense food inspired our new on farm Exclusive Gluten Free Bakeshop. Using high protein & fiber rich Alberta produced flours to make delicious GF Baked Goods. We also offer other local farm products like Honey, Goat Milk Soaps, Candles, Plants, Holistic livestock feed (Chicken, Rabbit etc.) and more in our farm store. RichEarth Acres is a small Alpaca farm with a focus on the Fibre Arts.

Our focus is on creating and making useful and purposeful items with alpaca fibre.

• Come and meet our herd of Alpacas, watch and join in on demonstrations on how the wool is processed from animal to wearable items, like mittens, sweaters and socks.
• Try your hand at preparing fibre and spinning with a drop spindle. We will also have demonstrations on weaving and locker hooking.
• See our local children's author and her alpaca book, "The First Day the Snow Fell" , inspired by the farm.
• As well as explore our artisan market.

The Farm will be open to Visitors Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th from 10:00-5:00 for free tours and demonstrations.

Stettler District Agricultural Society welcome our community and visitors from all areas of the Province to our Exhibition Grounds to recognize Open Farm Days.

This year in recognition of the Alpaca and the contribution and importance that they make to Alberta Agriculture we have both live animals and vendors that market the products derived from the Alpaca.

• We are also hosting a Bench Show in conjunction with the Open Farm Day event, this will include all categories - Horticulture, Baking, Sewing, Knitting/Crochet, Photography, scrap booking and art. Open to Adult and Junior divisions.
• We partner with our Stettler Public Library as a leg of their Amazing race, we provide an information sheet on the featured sector of the Agricultural industry for 2024, in order to receive their clue for the next site they have to answer a short question page, this year being about the Alpaca.
• The County of Stettler are providing a Barbecue for Open Farm Days, open for free to the community and all visitors.

Come join The Yak Ranch for their 2nd annual Open Farm Days at our Wildwood ranch!

Come get a up close view of Canadas 2nd largest Yak Ranch!

Have a relaxing self guided walk through the farm and view some of our Yaks, alpacas, and Turkeys! Visitors will learn a variety of Yak facts as well as get to visit our on farm display store of all the great yak products we sell across Alberta!

• We will also be offering a delicious $5 hot yak lunch ( cash only).
• Yak hotdog and pop or water $5 or a bowl of our famous Yak Chili with a pop or water $5 Our hot lunch will be available all day while supplies last!

Cash is preferred but we do accept debit or Credit in the farm store. Plan to bring a cooler as we have a variety of delicious frozen yak meat available! Other products available; Yak tallow skin care products, variety of yak blend clothing, Yak wool sock, mugs, hoodies, yak stuffies, stone bracelets from Nepal and raw Yak fiber for carding and spinning. Our farm will be open to visitors on Saturday, August 17th 9-7pm and August 18th 9am-7pm This is a working farm with dogs on site please No Pets Allowed on site. Please unsure children are accompanied by sufficient supervision. Please avoid running and screaming around the yaks to unsure the best hands on experience.
