We purchased our 1st alpacas in 2017 and since then, we have produced National, Supreme and Color Champions, which we are extremely proud of. Currently we have 32 alpacas including the 4 cria (baby alpacas) we had this summer. If you are curious about alpacas & the amazing fiber products and how they are produced come visit us to learn & experience this unique livestock firsthand. Hi my name is Sylvia. I am the owner of the Lone Pine Ranch Bed and Breakfast. With the support of volunteers from all over the world I run a herd of cattle and the B&B. When you come and visit our place our 3 dogs Jake, Shiloh and Willow will be the first ones to meet you, they love to welcome everyone of our guests personally. But there are many more animals to see: Alpacas, llamas, sheep, chickens, ducks, pigs, cats, guinea fowl, donkeys, a horse and a pony call the Lone Pine Ranch home. We are an active cattle ranch, cows, calves and bulls are here, but not necessarily in sight. Besides all the animals, we also run a Bed & Breakfast. Visitors can explore our cozy cabins HERE and check out our dining room treats. There will also be a Country Market and Garage Sale at the ranch on Sunday the 16th of August with a variety of vendors from the region and Edmonton. Outdoor activities will include a roping station, horseshoe pitching, glitter tattoos and other games. Everyone is welcome to check out and observe the animals. There are eggs to collect in the chicken coop and we provide snacks so you can feed to the donkeys. For the Country market we will have a petting area for our sheep set up and you can watch our potbelly pigs relax in the sun. We are looking forward to welcoming you here at the ranch!

The Priddis & Millarville Fair is unique in Canada as the longest-running, community-supported, old-time country Fair.
Located at the Millarville Racetrack.
The Fair is the place to come to learn about Alberta's agricultural heritage. Established in 1907, the Fair offers friendly competition in a variety of bench exhibits, equestrian events, livestock shows for beef cattle, sheep and dairy goats. The Millarville Racetrack is also home of the Millarville Farmers' Market that runs in conjuction with the Fair. The Farmer's Market, normally a Saturday only event, runs all weekend for Fair weekend only. Come to the Garden to see exhibits from the wild world around us - bats, hummingbirds and the ever popular Poop Identification Station where you can test your knowledge of scat and tracks of wild animals. The Barns have Goats, Sheep, Llamas and Alpacas on display and in competition. The Poultry classes can be seen in the Quonset. The bench exhibits that have been judged for ribbons, and prizes are in the Arena. You can view the work of local artisans, gardeners, photographers, cooks & bakers, and woodworkers. Artistic pasture art, aka licked salt blocks and honey that have been judged, are also on view. Don't miss a visit with the live Birds of Prey in the Arena. We have antique engines and tractors, and Model As and Model Ts, that span the generations. Horse riding competitions include light horse English, Western, and Gymkhana. Contests include pie and watermelon eating, rooster crowing, tractor pulls, a farm chore relay and hale bale tossing...- Face painting, visiting the honey bees, watching stock dog demonstrations, or visiting Food Trucks. You can also paint a rock, decorate a cookie and visit the Sheep Creek Weavers, who are hosting a fleece to shawl competition, demos and interactive activities.
- The Millarville Historical Society has many photos and wonderful historical collections on display.
- The Millarville Farmers' Market is open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. With products made, baked, or grown in Alberta, you can support local Farmers and Crafters at our markets.

When visiting the farm you will see alpaca mom's (dam's) alpaca dad's (sire's) and their beautiful babies (cria). They might be racing around the pen or enjoying an afternoon nap, regardless you will love them Sunnyhill like's to keep their alpacas calm and stress free, visitors are not allowed in the pen. **No dogs allowed (alpacas are terrified of strange dog's)** Alpaca has the perfect fleece for making cozy yarn, yes you read right, alpaca yarn is super soft naturally and hypoallergenic. Alpacas are sheared once a year in the spring, producing on average between five to 10 pounds of fibre a year. The main yield is from their “blanket”, or the part of the alpaca’s coat that comes from the barrel of its body.
While there were alpacas in Alberta in the 1980’s the largest importation of alpacas into Canada happened in 1992. At this time 362 of the animals arrived at the Edmonton International Airport in Nisku, Alberta. The animals had a long journey, starting in Chile, and then quarantine in New Zealand for over a year and a half before they arrived in Canada. Alpaca’s produce fibre that is as fine as cashmere, soft, silky and much warmer and stronger than sheep’s wool.
They do! But it doesn't mean they'll spit at you. Alpacas, and llamas, use spitting as a way of communication. They spit to keep competitors away from their food, or to keep an aggressor away.
According to Statistics Canada*, Alberta has 28% of the nations total population of alpacas and llamas and 47.3% of the western Canadian total!
According to 2021 Census of Agriculture, Alberta now ranks second in llama and alpaca inventories on farms, losing the number one spot to Ontario.
