Photo Contest Form

Submit your original Alberta farm, landscape, or rural photo for a chance to be featured in our 2026 campaign, themed “Rangelands and Pastoralists.” Photos must be taken by the entrant and showcase the Alberta landscape. Please include the photo title and location (farm name, county, or general area).

Digital Eligibility Photos may be cropped and adjusted for tone, colour, or converted to black and white. All entries must be available in high-resolution (3600 x 2700 px at 300 dpi, uncompressed TIFF or max-quality JPEG, RGB or Grayscale). Winning entries must provide this file within one week of notification or the prize will be forfeited and a new winner selected. No substitute prizes will be given. How to Submit Web Entries: Submit via the contest webpage or by email (address to be provided). Email submissions must include your full name, category (Amateur, Professional, or Youth), and a brief photo description. Social Media: Submit via the Photo Contest Facebook event page using #OFDPhotoContest25. Include your name, contact info, and mailing address. All winning social media entries must also submit a high-resolution version (minimum 11” x 14” or 3300 x 4200 px). Failure to provide this within one week of prize notification will result in disqualification.

Usage & Rights: By entering, you grant Alberta Open Farm Days (OFD) a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and distribute your photo in all formats (print, digital, social media, promotional materials, merchandise, etc.). Entrants retain copyright. If your image includes identifiable people, you must have appropriate model releases available upon request. Deadlines & Prizes Contest opens: May 15, 2025 Closes: July 15, 2025 (11:59 p.m. EST) Prize: $250 cash (no substitutions; non-transferable) Judging Photos will be reviewed by OFD’s panel. Decisions are final. Winners will be announced in mid-August 2025. Conditions All submissions become the property of the contest sponsor and will not be returned. OFD is not responsible for technical issues or lost/delayed entries. Winners must complete a declaration and release form within 10 days or an alternate winner will be selected. Liability By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless OFD and its affiliates from any claims related to participation or prize use. Chances of Winning Depend on the number and quality of eligible entries. Disputes All decisions by the contest sponsor are final. Participation implies acceptance of these rules.
