Come and visit our 71 acre facility, take a moment to admire the artistic community painted murals at our gates before you climb aboard our wagon ride to learn about local history, agricultural societies and things we have growing at BADAS. Get off at our Urban Agriculture Centre and participate in nature activities and games, take a pollinator and community garden tour, or relax in nature and enjoy some lunch from our BBQ fundraiser.
Explore our 2 acre Urban Agriculture Centre (UAC) including food forest, passive solar greenhouse with tool library, pollinator gardens, school demonstration garden and 104 community garden plots. Water is a key to the success of our gardens, our 2 acre pond and wetland area supports a diversity of wildlife and insects as well as our gardeners. While you are here you can purchase local soil amendments made locally by Annelida Soil Solutions worms and soil experts or a native flower to support habitat in your backyard, or for a friend.
This year we are excited to host a Bumble Bee Box Building workshop hosted by and supporting the Alberta Native Bee Council (ANBC).
The ANBC Bumble Bee Box Workshops are interactive events that combine education and hands-on activities to support the conservation of Alberta’s native bumble bees. Participants learn about the importance of pollinator habitats and build their own bumble bee nesting boxes to take home. This activity requires pre-registration and costs $100, 30 spaces available, tickets will be available May 2025.
Participants:
● Bring the following items to the workshop:
○ Cordless drill.
○ Safety glasses.
○ Work gloves.
● Participate in the educational presentation and box-building activity.
● Install and maintain their bumble bee boxes at home or in a community space.
● Optional: Join ANBC’s Bumble Bee Box Monitoring Program to contribute data for ongoing conservation efforts.

Connect with Beaumont from 50th street from Edmonton or the North or on Hwy 814 from the South. Proceed through Beaumont on 50th Street to the intersection that intersects with 50th Avenue (landmark St. Vital Catholic Church on southeast corner of intersection); take 50th Avenue west to the 4-way stop at Range Road (RR) 243 on 50th Ave. Continue west, now on Township Rd. 505, for 0.75 miles (1.2 kilometers) past the baseball diamonds to the Fairground entrance gate on the north side of the road.
