A Day of Nature, History, and Agriculture!
Come and explore our 71-acre facility, just minutes from Edmonton, Leduc, and surrounding areas in Leduc County. Enjoy a unique combination of urban and rural agriculture that offers something for everyone!
What to See and Do:
- Artistic Welcome: Admire the vibrant community-painted murals at our gates as you arrive.
- Wagon Ride Adventure: Climb aboard a wagon ride to delve into local history, learn about agricultural societies, and discover the diverse plant life growing at BADAS.
- Urban Agriculture Centre (UAC) Exploration: Disembark at our 2-acre Urban Agriculture Centre and immerse yourself in a world of hands-on learning and relaxation:
- Nature Activities & Games: Participate in engaging nature-based activities and games.
- Garden Tours: Take a guided tour of our pollinator and community gardens.
- Relax & Dine: Unwind in nature and enjoy a delicious lunch from our BBQ fundraiser.
- Explore the UAC: Discover our food forest, passive solar greenhouse with a tool library, school demonstration garden, and 104 community garden plots.
- Water Features: Learn about our 2-acre pond and wetland area, which supports a rich diversity of wildlife and insects while also providing vital water for our gardens.
- Support Local:
- Purchase local soil amendments made by Annelida Soil Solutions, worms and soil experts.
- Buy a beautiful native flower to enhance habitat in your own backyard or as a gift for a friend.
Special Event: Bumble Bee Box Building Workshop
This year, we are thrilled to host a Bumble Bee Box Building Workshop in partnership with and supporting the Alberta Native Bee Council (ANBC).
- What you’ll learn: Participants will gain valuable knowledge about the crucial role of pollinator habitats in conservation efforts.
- Hands-on activity: Build your very own bumble bee nesting box to take home!
- Pre-registration required:
- Cost: $100
- Spaces: Limited to 30 participants

- What to bring:
- Cordless drill
- Safety glasses
- Work gloves
- Post-workshop participation:

Connect with Beaumont from 50th street from Edmonton or the North or on Hwy 814 from the South. Proceed through Beaumont on 50th Street to the intersection that intersects with 50th Avenue (landmark St. Vital Catholic Church on southeast corner of intersection); take 50th Avenue west to the 4-way stop at Range Road (RR) 243 on 50th Ave. Continue west, now on Township Rd. 505, for 0.75 miles (1.2 kilometers) past the baseball diamonds to the Fairground entrance gate on the north side of the road.
