Welcome to Chicks N Chaps!
Join us on Sunday, August 17th from 10 AM to 4 PM at our charming mixed farm, just 35 minutes east of Edmonton in Strathcona County. Bring a picnic lunch, find a scenic spot to share with friends, and try your hand at a game of bunnock, a unique game with ties to the equine world! Our farm is only a 12 minute drive to Elk Island Park’s west gate so why not drop in at the farm, learn about the water life  that exists in Alberta’s rivers and ponds with The Aquatic Biosphere Project and then head to the park to see for yourself? 
Chicks n Chaps Farm is home to the Airbnb Heartland Bunkhouse . Check out the bunkhouse on Open Farm Days – who knows you may want to escape to the farm in the future and The Heartland Bunkhouse could be your home away from home . 
Remember to bring your camera and if you like to paint it will be the perfect time for Plein air 

Exciting Activities Await

• Do you know what that machine does? Farm equipment displays 
• Akers Acres – learn about this award winning educational project 
• Aquatic Biosphere Project will be on hand with their Minnow Trailer and The Water Story 
• Music by Harold. Harold will be busking from the grain bin from 1-2. Bring your spare change. 
  
• ‘Water ‘ a photographic exhibit featuring the work of Steve Ricketts 
• It’s all about the dough. From stems of wheat to the food we eat. Demonstrations of grinding and baking at 11:30am and 2:30pm
• Kids’ Craft Corner: Little ones can create their own ‘stick’ noodle horse (fee applies).

Learn and Enjoy
From flower farming to pie making, our educational demonstrations throughout the day will fascinate and delight. Purchase a slice of pie or simply relax and soak in the farm’s peaceful ambiance.
