1:00 pm Guided wetland nature walk – This is our only paid activity and helps cover our costs of putting on this event. With a special price of only $10.00 per person you can’t go wrong! Join us and learn the importance of riparian buffer zones, wetland plant and animal species, and the many uses of native plants. Participants must pre-register. Max. 20 people. Participants must have a basic health/fitness level as we will be hiking in uneven terrain, wetland and woodland areas. Make sure you have insect repellent, sunblock, rubber boots, long pants and sleeves, a drink, and of course, your phone or camera to take lots of pics!
2:30 pm Wilderness Shelter Building with Cyngen – Learn the basics of putting together a structure quickly that will shelter you from the elements with minimal packed items, combined with nature’s provisions. Location, important basics to have with you when in the back country, lashing, insulation, and more.
3:00 pm Meet and Greet Juno, the Mammoth Donkey – Did you know donkeys are more resilient to water scarcity than horses, and they evolved to bray instead of neigh to cover the larger areas and longer distances in the deserts where they originated? Ask Juno all of your questions about donkeys!
