Welcome to Niznik Ranches!

Come tour our 105 year old 5th generation farm and ranch in the County “Where Water Works Wonders.” Niznik Ranches is a mixed operation with farm land, grass for grazing, black angus cattle, as well as Angus Wagyu cross cattle. On Niznik Ranches we irrigate our crops with water diverted off the Bow River. In the early years we used contour flood irrigation, moving to machine levelled flood, wheel moves, ditches were replaced with gated pipe, and pivots that advanced from high pressure to high efficiency low pressure pivots. Come learn about irrigation, see farming implements old and new, enjoy cattle grazing grass on rich ecosystems, cattle handling systems, and learn the ways we use the gift of water to grow some of the best crops and grazing pastures in western Canada!
