Bringing the Ranch to Patricia for Alberta Open Farm Days

At One Tree Ranching, home of OTR Meats & More, we are bringing the ranch to Patricia for Alberta Open Farm Days!

Our goal is simple: to help people better understand where their food comes from in a way that is fun, informative, and maybe even a little unforgettable.

Instead of offering a traditional farm tour, we will bring a couple of our Texas Longhorn cattle to the field across from OTR Meats & More. Visitors will have the opportunity to see these incredible animals and learn what makes the breed so unique, and discover how we raise and care for our cattle.

Ask questions, hear honest answers, and experience a real, live connection to Alberta agriculture.

From Ranch to Retail — How Your Beef Gets Here

Join us by the field for a short talk about our Longhorn cattle. We will explain how they are raised, what makes the breed different, and how the beef travels from our ranch to the freezers at OTR Meats & More.

Meat Matters — Beef Education You’ll Actually Use

Learn practical ways to prepare and cook Longhorn beef with a live cooking demonstration. We will share helpful tips about choosing cuts, cooking lean Longhorn beef properly, and getting the most from the meat in your freezer.

Visitors will also receive a freezer checklist and weekly meal planner to take home, making family meals and grocery planning a little easier.

 Ask a Rancher — Real Conversations

A real-life rancher will be available to answer questions, share stories, and talk openly about ranch life, raising cattle, and the work that goes into producing food.

We will also be showing a short video introducing the Texas Longhorn breed and sharing the history of how Longhorn cattle came to Canada.
