Come and join us for our first Alberta Open Farm Days!

We will be open Saturday August 17th 10am until 6pm and Sunday August 18th  10am until 5pm

Pitchfork Gardens opened in 2020.
We grow a variety of vegetables plus strawberries and raspberries for you to pick. We grow the normal to the wild, well as wild as vegetables can get. As the season runs from spring into the fall the types of vegetables change with the season.

We grow the following but not limited to: apples, beets, beet greens, beans, cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, dill, fennel, garlic, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, lettuce, onions, peas, peppers -sweet and hot, potatoes, raspberries, shallots, strawberries, tomatoes The exact varieties are numerous for all types. For example we have 20 different tomatoes, 15 different peppers, 5 types of beans, two types of peas, 5 types of onions, 3 types of leeks and 4 types of types.

Activities during the Open Farm Days Event

  • PLANT A DRAGON (dragon’s tongue bean) and take it home with you to watch it grow
  • hot dog and a pop for $5, donated to the County of Lamont Food Bank
  • garden tours, may encounter rough terrain, rocks, gravel
  • visit the honey bee hives, bee careful as they are hard at work and protected with an electric fence
  • pick your own veggies, most veggies should be available at this time of the year, some may be limited quantity

Our regular hours during the summer are Saturdays from 10am until 6 pm and Sundays from 10am to 5pm

  • From the Town of Lamont Head west on Hwy 15 to Hwy 831.
    Head south on Hwy 831 for 2.3 km and look for the sign on the driveway

    If you have a National Park Pass:
    From Edmonton head east on Hwy 16 towards Elk Island Park.
    Turn north at the Elk Island Park entrance and drive all the way through the park.
    Once you are through the north gate, continue north on Hwy 831 for approx 2km.
    Watch for sign on the driveway

    If you do not have a park pass:
    Drive east on Hwy 16 from Edmonton and turn north onto Hwy 21.
    Drive through Fort Saskatchewan, Hwy 21 will turn into Hwy 15.
    Stay on Hwy 15 until just before Lamont. You will see a big green sign for Elk Island Park.
    Turn south on Hwy 831 and drive 2.3km. Watch for the sign on the driveway.
