- Full guided farm tours Saturday by Juli & Jeff (11am & 2pm; 1.5hrs per tour)
We will feature renewable energy systems, organic food production, water harvest, compost, food storage, off-grid log cabins, and a plethora of other ideas that help families move towards self-sufficiency, food security, and healthy communities.

Owners Juli & Jeff Gillies are passionate about exploring new sustainable ideas and sharing them with the world. Jeff’s background in soil science and construction, combined with Juli’s marketing and family skills, make J2 a dynamic duo for building and showing off their Permaculture Demonstration Farm near Rocky Mountain House, AB. Their farm demonstrates a new way of living where health, happiness, and sustainability are the goals, and abundance is on the horizon.
This beautiful five-acre permaculture demonstration farm has the potential to host events, workshops, and courses, while offering affordable, comfortable, all-inclusive accommodations. The resort creates a friendly, comfortable atmosphere that enhances social interaction, connections with the natural world, and confidence in themselves as an informed consumer.
We are surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes including forest, open fields and a nice view of snow-capped mountains. We are in close proximity to amazing activities like hiking, wildlife viewing, the mountain parks, and a UNESCO world heritage site just to name a few.
Activities while you are here include:
- Try your hand at Axe throwing provided by Âsokêwin Friendship Centre from Rocky Mnt House
- Scavenger Hunt for all ages
- Seed planting activity to take home
- Self guided tours of the property
- Shop for local goods at our mini market, including First Nations art work, and local food producers
- Event shelters for picnic lunches
- Children’s’ play structure with 2 slides and a swing
- Option to camp overnight (by donation) with amazing star gazing potential. Please contact the hosts to book your spot!
- Campfire guitars for those camping over night
- Sunday afternoon live music & open mic jam session 2-6pm (featuring our family band, The Garden Variety Rockstars)
