As many of you know, we are third generation fruit farmers from Oliver, BC. Over the years, we have grown from hard working farmers into a trusted source of delicious goods sold at Alberta farmers’ markets. In 2018, we planted our own ground crop on our property in Airdrie. We are very proud to have two farms, and the ability to provide fresh BC fruit and AB veggies to you and your families – the best of both worlds 🙂
Since then, we have only continued to expand. In 2021 we opened Souto Farms Local Market, our brick-and-mortar store location on our Alberta property.
Open Farm Days will give you an opportunity to tour our Alberta operations while Chris Souto shares with you about how we plant, how we grow, how we pull, our sustainable growing practices, how we bag and store our products, and some information about our BC farm and our farm store.
We’ll also have yard games, bouncy castles, food trucks, a playground, and more!
This is a great day to learn more about where your food comes from, and more about our family business! Our store offers fruit sourced from trusted growers in BC and Alberta, our Alberta veggies, products from other local farmers, and a large variety of grocery and household items from over 40 local vendors! We also have coffee and ice cream, and an outdoor patio for you to relax and hang out!
*Farm tours will require walking/standing for long periods of time. Tours are family friendly, and great for children of all ages! Please note that we will be covering our store, lot, and field – so there will be rocks, gravel, and uneven terrain. Strollers and walkers are manageable, at personal discretion. Tours are not wheelchair accessible, but our store location itself is.
